Incense Village Tour from Hanoi

Quang Phu Cau Incense Village - Rhapsody in Red We pick you up at your hotel and head out of Hanoi by car at 8:30am, arriving in Quang Phu Cau at around 10am. By this time, the villagers have already set out incense to dry in various formations, and we’ll get pictures of people working among this sea of red. We’ll have time to capture a variety of shots of the workers in action. We also venture further into the village workshops, shooting images of the incense-making process, including bamboo chopping, dipping the sticks in dye, and the creation of incense paste. We’ll take more images of the friendly locals who have worked on producing incense in this village for generations. We leave the village at noon and head back to Hanoi around 12h30pm

Dubbed Bach Long (“White Dragon” in Vietnamese), the structure snakes along a rocky wall for 290 metres before spanning the valley thanks to a 342-m suspension bridge supported by powerful cables. The 250 reinforced tempered glass panels used for the floor of the bridge were commissioned from the French Saint-Gobain group, which had them made by a specialist partner in India. They consist of several layers of vinyl incorporated into a laminated pane, a technique used in regions hit by cyclones and hurricanes. Announced as highly resistant (just as well!), the structure is calibrated to be able to hold up to 450 people at once

Water Puppet Show

This is the night out in Hanoi which will show you different sights of Hanoi: Enjoy a traditional theatrical performance followed by traditional Vietnamese cuisine at a famous restaurant – a great evening. The tradition of water puppet theatre stems from a time when rice paddy fields were flooded and villagers would make entertainment by standing in the waist-deep water with the puppets performing over the water. Shows at this modern theatre are performed in a pool of water as the stage for the puppets. The puppets are controlled by no more than eight puppeteers hiding behind a bamboo screen.
